"Inspiration and creativity have no time, no space. They have no words to speak, they simply show themselves."

Luisa Beccaria

We had the exclusive opportunity to sit down with Luisa Beccaria, founder of her eponymous brand known for its gorgeous romantic aesthetic and stunning details. It comes as no surprise her bespoke gowns are as equally sought after as her ethereal designs in ready-to-wear.

How did you get into the bridal industry?

It happened by chance: our customers just started to ask for our evening gowns in white.

What inspires you?

Painting, nature, movies or simply walking on the street.

What is your muse?

My three daughters are the best muses at the moment.

Can you remember your first design project for a famous wedding dress?

Yes, it was my own! It was inspired by Scarlett from the 'Gone with the Wind' movie.

What is your creative process in designing a wedding dress?

I start from the fabric. Then the silhouette, the decorations and then the finishing details like the veil and the accessories!

Would you like to tell us about a famous bride you have dressed during the day of her wedding?

I am very fond of privacy… I prefer to keep it confidential.

The perfect bouquet for Luisa Beccaria is..?

I have to consider details - the type of gown, place you are getting married, the church. I love all flowers, all play a part in the ambiance.

What is the artistic sector you are more interested in?

Painting and music.

What is your favorite book, magazine, or site on design?

All books published by Taschen, Electa.

Tell us about your sensations when you are cocooned in Frette linens or towels.

I think it's a real pleasure to sleep in Frette linens. Frette linens are so delicate to the touch and I also appreciate the excellent quality of the towels.

What is on your bedside table?

A notebook to write down my emotions. A small Madonna “Virgin Mary” engraved on glass.

Did you receive Frette products when you got married?

Sure, I got Frette towels as dowry.
